Giuseppe Zanotti Daddy Saragein Over-The-Knee Boots in Pebbled Black Calf Leather
I always like to buy items opposite of the current season that we’re in to get major discounts. Yoox has fabulous sale prices for a lot of designer items that have been left over from previous seasons. They recently started their summer sale and I was lucky enough to have gotten an extra 10% off code. Not only so, no extra duties or sales tax for Canadians as they’re already inclusive in the sale prices. Of course, given that they’re deeply discounted, sometimes the items from Yoox are not perfect, eg. tags missing, original box, dustbag, or other packaging material may not be included. Nonetheless, the item itself is usually in perfect condition.
I’ve been looking for a pair of OTK boots for the last year, but nothing really satisfied me until I saw these Giuseppe boots. I wanted flat boots with a small heel, non-suede, all leather lined, no fancy embellishments, studs, or other junk design. So when I saw these boots in the only size left over, they were perfect I thought to myself! The boot design itself is Giuseppe‘s well known Daddy style which has been made into various textures and materials over the years. This OTK version is just fabulous with 100% leather construction – sumptuous pebbled leather on the outside, lined completely in smooth calfskin on the inside, and finished with a leather sole.
My only issue with these boots is that I need to have the shaft shortened a bit. I do think they’re a bit high for my liking.

Giuseppe Zanotti FW11 Eva 150 Booties in Black Suede
I was originally planning to get these on sale since the majority of GZ’s shoes go on sale at the end of every season, but these booties were selling out fast! I couldn’t wait anymore and had to order the last one available on the entire web in my size. Sure enough, most of his booties were all sold out in the popular sizes, with just a few random ones scattered around online.
The silhouette of the booties are just perfection. As I’ve mentioned in my previous post on GZ’s platform shoes, I love how there’s a small external platform with an internal one built in as well. The toes are refined and give the entire body a very sleek silhouette. With all this being said, you are walking on a steep pitch of 110mm… It’s definitely not the most easy pair of 150s to walk in, that’s for sure.

Giuseppe Zanotti Fall/Winter 2011 Collection
So Giuseppe Zanotti, the King of blinged out shoes, has been in the shadows for the past couple of seasons. There were always a couple of okay-looking shoes, the kind that you’d think “Oh that’s nice, but I’ll wait until they go on sale.” Since last season, I was already noticing a change with some of his platform heels. Nonetheless, I could live without them.
As we slowly strut into fall/winter of 2011, Giuseppe Zanotti has been quick in climbing the new heights of the season! With his platform shoes in the 150 mm heel height, they are definitely competing in the spotlight against Christian Louboutin‘s famous heels. Of particularly interest to me, are his Double Platform Booties 150 which look rather similar to CL’s Daf booties 160 as seen on Victoria Beckham recently. I can’t help but to fall in love with Giuseppe‘s! I ADORE the combination of 20mm inbuilt platform together with a small 10mm visible platform, which definitely REFINES the toes while providing extra height! Unlike CL’s Daf booties which have a completely hidden platform of 60mm, making the entire shoe appear extremely chunky. Not to mention that Giuseppe’s Platform booties are only 695$ compared to CL’s Daf booties which are almost double the price at 1295$ for the suede and leather versions (leopard print is 1695$). My heart is really itching to buy them NOW!!!

Here are some of my other favorite Giuseppe Zanotti shoes this season:
I love these lady-like pumps in the first row. They actually remind me of Yves Saint Laurent’s Tribute pumps but again, there’s something about the small visible platform of GZ that appeal to me more than YSL‘s big chunky platform. As you can tell, I really don’t like it when the visible platform is more than an inch, but the hidden platform can’t be that big either (like CL‘s) which then makes the foot look big and clunky.
