Drum roll please for the perfect all occasion dress…
1. Roland Mouret – FW14 “Timarcha” Dress in Viscose and Silk

For every major event, I wear Roland Mouret. The man is a genius and his dresses are divine. However, sometimes I wish that I can wear his dresses for more casual days, or perhaps to work, and then transition into a night dress for a date or even for going out with friends? I hate having to go home and then change or pack along with me a separate outfit. So when I saw this dress on NAP, it was pure love! I can see it being worn for all occasions and because I’m quite boring and conservative, black and white are my favourite colour combo!
Acquiring this beautiful piece was not so easy though when I was only willing to pay at 50% discount or more… and even so it’s still my most expensive RM dress of the half dozen or so that I own. I had to locate a private shopper through PS Dept, that’s affiliated with NAP, to get access to the VIP shopping event which offers their clients pre-sales and basically first dibs on everything at 50% off. You gotta think and act fast cuz good things get scooped up in the blink of an eye. Then I had to figure out shipping since I no longer live close to the States. It was a nightmare, but everything worked out well in the end!
^Details of the 3 crêpe fabrics.
For reference, shoes by Gianvito Rossi.
Coleen Rooneys, with her beautifully swept up hair, steps out in Christian Louboutin‘s Lady Peep heels (and clutch?).
Taylor Schillings has an interesting royal purple version without the colour-blocking effect. She also has the dress shortened by at least 3 inches, which is quite obvious from how low sitting the back zipper sits. I’m not sure how the bright colours in her attire -purple and red – work out though as they seem to compete with each other…?
2. Rag & Bone – FW14 Skinny Leggings Coated Jeans
I actually bought the last pair on sale at Holt Renfrew recently. I typically wear 26 in R&B, but was gladly surprised that the 25 fit me as well since I lost a few pounds. No mod pix yet, but here are some from SSENSE which also offers this pair of jeans currently on sale at a great price.
3. Helmut Lang – FW14 Villous Sweatshirt
Love this piece, it’s so soft, warm, and looks great with the asymmetric cut. Can be worn open, zipped up, or with the lapel flipped up (hooks onto the right neck area) for a “scarf” look.
4. FW14’s Fashion Sports’ Bras
Given how recent seasons have incorporated so much mesh and see-through fabrics, it seems to be a trend to show off one’s undergarments. I’ve always liked Helmut Lang‘s bras but never really had the confidence to rock one like this:

However, the one below actually has more coverage and I couldn’t resist buying another one from T by Alexander Wang at a steal – 70% off! I would have preferred if they had in-built cups for more support and discretion…
A. Helmut Lang – FW14 Split-Strap Micro Modal Bra
Super soft and comfy. I love the asymmetric split strap!! It’ll be perfect with my see through Lululemon mesh T-shirt!!

B. T by Alexander Wang – FW14 High Density Lux Sports Bra
I took the wrong advice and got Small which is slightly too big on me. Ugh… It was final sale so I can’t exchange or return it. I hope after a wash and spin in the dryer at super high heat can shrink it. Or else I’ll have no choice but to wear it as a fashion piece only, instead of a real sports bra, which I was originally planning to do.
