Beauty Product of the Year Award (For Me) – La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Luxe Sleep Mask!!!

YAY!!! Usually with a 400$ purchase, you only get 1 GWP, but I was able to get 2 of La Prairie‘s most coveted collections: The True Radiance and The Extravagant Caviar bags of goodies!

True Radiance: Total Value $185
– Cellular Cleansing Water 60mL
– Cellular Radiance Cream 7mL
– Cellular Radiance Eye Cream 3mL

The pouch is gorgeous! Resembles the White Caviar collection’s silver rim of caviar beads. I think it can work really well as an evening bag too. There are no logos on the outside so it’s really great for a special event. The pictures don’t show it that well, but the top flap is pebbly and very sparkly!

Extravagant Caviar: Total Value $156
– Skin Caviar Luxe Cream 5mL
– Skin Caviar Luxe Eye Lift Cream 3mL
– Skin Caviar Crystalline Concentrate 5mL

Fabulous deal as well. Very pretty and functional pouch.

Well everything’s not for free right? So what did I buy?
La Prairie’s Cellular Emulsion Matte Pore Minimizer – I’ve been wanting to try this for a while now. I haven’t opened this yet, but will update everyone with how well it works later.
La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Luxe Sleep Mask – NEW! Just came out and I’m intrigued by this mask that also works as an overnight moisturizer? It seems like you put on a thick layer with the brush and sleep with it on without rinsing. Not to be used more than 3X per week. Will try it tonight and see, but I LOVE the packaging as with all La Prairie’s products. Exquisite attention to detail and just screams luxury!

Instant update: WOW!!! This cream is definitely not what I was expecting (in a good way of course)! The usual Skin Caviar collection has always been a gleaming yellow or white cream. I was certainly not expecting a beautiful LILAC PURPLE color! It’s a thick, but not gloopy-hard-to-spread thick, cream that glides on effortlessly. I assume that you should put on a good amount since it’s a mask, so I did just this, and the cream just melted into my skin. Ooooh and then you get a wonderful refreshing feeling which I cannot describe. It’s a bit tingly, a bit warm, a bit soothing, and just pure comfort! I looked at the ingredients and there’s no menthol which usually gives that tingly feeling. So I’m not sure which of the ingredients in this jam packed mask of some dozen extracts of various botanicals and caviar is doing this, but whatever it is, I LOVE IT! Will let everyone know how things go tomorrow morning – I’m really excited 😀

Further update the next day: I woke up this morning with baby soft skin! All that good stuff was completely absorbed into my skin and how do I know? Well I have terribly oily skin and if something just sits on top, I just get even more oily several hours later after washing my face. However, my skin was dewy soft without that layer of heavy oiliness which I often get when I stray from my usual products. My skin felt calm and the redness of my rosacea has also subsided. AMAZING product! I am going to use this forever!!! I am sold – hands down La Prairie, you never fail to disappoint me!

On the side, I also purchased some MAC cosmetics:
To The Beach Body Oil in Man Rays – Remember the famous Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Or? I love this stuff, but it’s quite expensive at $60. So as an alternative, I’ve heard many good reviews of MAC’s Body Oil which I got at only $18 from retail $22 at Saks’ Off Fifth. And the verdict? LOVE IT!!! This is fabulous to help shape and give the illusion of thinner legs while giving the right amount of glimmer when the light shines. I’ve read others saying that their glittery particles disappeared within an hour, however after a whole day, all the particles are still there on me. Btw, I add this on top of my usual Lancome Flash Bronzer Gel to enhance the tan and sparkles 😀
Paint Pot in Bare Study – Replenished this for only $13 from retail $20! I’ve been using this for years and it’s a great base for eyeshadow. No creasing or fading at all. Really wonderful stuff.
