Louboutin Spotted Fever

Christian Louboutin FW14 So Kate in Black Vernis Moucheté

I don’t know why but I’m thinking of rocky mountain spotted fever as I’m writing this post… lol This is one of those potentially lethal infections that presents initially with fever and a few days later a rash that goes all over your body and is often missed by physicians. The reason I bring this disease up is that the spots on these So Kates have a “trompe l’oeil” effect kind of like this weird rash. At first, I thought it was a leopard print, but on closer inspection they  are actually brush strokes on a cyan-gray background, splashed with golden yellow flecks. Also in French, the word “moucheté” means spots/flecks/dots. It’s a real gorgeous print in my opinion, but there are ladies who were not fond of the print when the shoes came out. All I can say is, it’s a “Do Not Miss!” for me, just like the diagnosis of the rash for docs! 😀

  1. Hi Cecilia! Love your site. You have great taste 🙂
Just wondering how these mouchete SKs fit? I might have the opportunity to buy them but they would be a half size down from what I think is my correct SK size (have not have the opportunity to try on multiple sizes as there aren’t any stores here in Edmonton that carry CLs), so I am a little hesitant to make the purchase.

  2. Hi Jen, sorry for the late response! I’m not sure if you purchased the SKs, but patent leather tends to be stiffer… I would probably still recommend going with your usual SK size (which is TTS for me)… Good luck shopping 🙂

  3. Hi Cecilia, good to see you’re back 🙂
I did end up purchasing them off Tradesy in my true Canadian size, 8.5, which after chatting with the CL specialist at Holts she told me should be 38.5. I do have wide feet so I bought the nude patent in a 39; they are very similar in size though my long toes are more crunched in the 38.5. Still trying to break in both though but I am confident I will get there 🙂 Thanks for your comments!
